# Staircase Remodels

### Scope of Work

Staircase remodels generally involve remodeling the existing staircase system down to the framework. From there, the following will occur:

- The framing will be adjusted to ensure each step is the same height and depth.
- A new skirt board will be installed against drywall.
- Risers will be installed flush to the skirtboard.
- Treads will be installed flush to the skirtboard and risers.
- Workmanship will be top quality, and the work site will be straightened up and cleaned daily.
- You will receive excellent customer service during the process. Tate aims to bring your vision to life in a pleasant, professional way.

### Installation Pricing

A lot of work goes into installation. The pricing below includes staircase installation, the project management labor to ensure the project runs smoothly, an appropriate slice of the business overhead costs, and a reasonable profit.

- **$450** per step for closed skirt boards
- **$600** per step for open skirt boards
- **$600** per landing area
- **$850** for custom staining and topcoating of all wooden handrail parts

### Material Pricing

The cost of wood varies depending upon the design, wood species, and industry supply. On average, previous projects have had the following pricing.

- **$150** per red oak step
- **$225** per white oak step
