Summit Ave Historical Restoration

This project of a lifetime gave Tate the opportunity to restore intricate 1920s millwork damaged by water leaks. Through careful measurement and custom fabrication, Tate replicated the original corbels, curved crown molding, and pediment details. All work was designed to preserve this home's historic character.

The gutter boxes on this house had started to leak, leading to significant damage to the decorative exterior millwork. Second story soffit, corbels, fascia and crown molding were all damaged beyond simple repair. Tate removed the damaged pieces, fixed the leaks, and made new parts to match what was originally there.

A few months before starting work, Tate measured the arched crown for its length and curve, then had it made to order. Once it arrived, he installed it to connect with the existing horizontal crown. The front entry pediment needed the most work: The crown, bed molding, fascia, soffit, and dentil were all custom made.
